This page has an on-the-record statement to work from, and it concerns dental jewellery rather than dental treatment. Describing an incident in Rome in which one of two diamonds set into his teeth came loose while he was eating, he said: “I had the left one in my hand, and I dropped it right into the sink hole.”
The remark was made to Esquire for a cover story and is reported by Robb Report in a piece dated 2 October 2023, which returns HTTP 200 with a headline matching the subject. What it establishes is narrow and worth stating exactly: he has described, in his own words, having diamonds set into his teeth. It establishes nothing about the teeth underneath them, and this page asserts nothing about those.
Dental jewellery and dental treatment are different categories. An ornament fixed to or worn over the front of a tooth is a decorative object. Nothing he said addresses the condition, alignment, shade or restoration of the teeth themselves, and no inference in that direction is drawn here.
The photograph above was made at a live performance. He is smiling broadly with the microphone lowered, and a gold-coloured ornament runs across the front of the upper arch, catching the stage light. That is an observation about what the picture shows, and it stops there: a covering of that kind conceals the surfaces beneath it completely, so the frame is simultaneously the most striking image on this page and the one that reveals least about the teeth themselves.
Two further limits apply to it. The lower arch sits behind the lower lip and is not readable. And the frame is backlit by stage haze, which is a deliberate lighting effect: atomised particles in the air scatter light and lift the shadows, reducing local contrast across the whole face.
The cover picture, from an awards ceremony in 2019, is the mirror image of the concert frame. He is wearing a wide-brimmed hat, the mouth is closed, and no dental surface appears in the picture at all. It identifies the subject of the page and contributes nothing else. Its original file is 727 pixels wide, which would in any case be too small to support fine judgements had the mouth been open.
Concert photography is the hardest lighting environment discussed anywhere in this section. Colour temperature changes continuously as the lighting desk runs its cues; a frame taken during a warm wash and a frame taken four seconds later under a cool one will render the same surfaces differently, and no white balance can be correct for both. Photographers shoot at high sensitivity to keep shutter speeds usable, which introduces noise that is then removed in software, softening fine edges as a side effect.
Metal complicates it further. A polished gold-coloured surface is specular rather than diffuse: it does not have a colour so much as it reflects whatever is pointed at it. Under a coloured wash it takes on that wash. Beside it, any tooth surface still visible is judged by a viewer relative to the metal, and relative judgements of brightness are notoriously unreliable.
Taken as a general question rather than a personal one, searches like this are asking what is ordinarily done to the front teeth and why. Written with reference to nobody: where a tooth has decayed, the damaged tissue is removed and the space restored, most often with a bonded tooth-coloured material, as described on the dental fillings page. Where a front tooth is heavily broken down, a full-coverage restoration such as an E-max crown rebuilds its outer form. Where the teeth are sound and the goal is to change shape or shade across the visible arch, thin bonded facings are the usual route, set out on the E-max veneers in Turkey page. Beyond the quotation at the top of this page, no statement by him about dental treatment has been verified to the standard set out in the sourcing policy.
