Image Licence and Attribution Policy

This page explains where the photographs, illustrations and other images on istanbulcaredental.com come from, how we credit them, and what you may and may not do with them. It also explains how to tell us if you believe an image is used incorrectly.

Where our images come from

Every image on this website falls into one of three groups, and each is handled differently:

• Our own clinical photographs. Before-and-after images and photographs taken at our clinic. These are ours, and the rules below apply to them in full.
• Licensed stock images. Illustrative photographs obtained under a licence that permits commercial use on a website like ours. We keep the licence terms with the file.
• Images published under an open licence. Where we use an image released under a Creative Commons or similar licence, we follow the credit requirements of that specific licence.

An image is not published until the right to use it has been confirmed. Where a licence requires a credit, the credit is added at the same time as the image, not afterwards.

How we credit an image

Where a credit is required, we give it near the image and include, as far as the licence requires and the information allows:

• the name of the creator;
• the title of the work, where it has one;
• a link to the original;
• the name of the licence, with a link to the licence text.

Where a licence does not require a credit, we may still record the source in our own records so that the file can be traced later.

Clinical photographs

Clinical before-and-after photographs on this website show patients we have treated. They are subject to strict rules:

• We do not publish another clinic's photographs, and we do not present stock images as our results.
• We do not retouch a clinical photograph in a way that changes what the treatment achieved. Cropping and consistent lighting are acceptable; altering the teeth, gums or smile in an image is not.
• A before-and-after pair always shows the same patient. We do not pair one person's "before" with another person's "after".
• Each pair shows an individual case at a point in time. It is not a prediction of what another person will achieve, and it is not a typical or expected result.

Using our images

The photographs, illustrations and page designs on this website belong to Istanbul Care Dental unless stated otherwise, and are protected by copyright. Clinical photographs in particular may not be copied, cropped, re-captioned or reused by other clinics or agencies, and may not be used in a way that suggests they show a different clinic's work. If you would like to use any image, ask us first at info@ic-dental.com and tell us which image and what for.

If you believe an image is used incorrectly

If you hold rights in an image published on this website and believe we have used it without permission or without the credit your licence requires, write to info@ic-dental.com. Tell us the address (URL) of the page, identify the image, and tell us what the correct position is. We will check it. Where you are right, we will add the credit you are owed or remove the image, and we treat the matter as a factual error under our Corrections Policy.

The same address should be used if you are a patient and want a photograph of yourself removed. That is treated as a personal data request under our Privacy Policy.
